Very rarely do you feel a bands heartbeat through their music on your first listen. Sometimes the music jumps right out and hi-jacks you-forcing you to surrender to its pull. Sleeping With Sirens can convey their passion for life and love through their music and they have a strong and growing fan base that would feel the same way.
Formed in 2009, Sleeping With Sirens is made up of members from others established bands, such as Broadway, and For All We Know. While the band is originally from Orlando, FL, they now reside in Grand Rapids, MI, which is accumulating a strong cluster of new and aspiring bands that are gracing the music scene-despite the bitter cold winters they must endure. Nonetheless, SWS is braving the adventure and has made a name for themselves in the short time they have been around. Vocalist, Kellin Quinn has a powerful voice that penetrates your eardrums, but with a positive impact. I will have to admit that I thought SWS was fronted by a female vocalist untill I saw a photo of the band (which isn't the first time that has happened, either) but Quinn's vocal duties are well spoken for and the band is doing well after two releases-their latest being "Let's Cheers To This."
While the band roster on Rise Records seems to be exploding with young talented artists, Sleeping with Sirens is among them, and touring like crazy-as they are expected to do. Late September, they will be touring the UK and other parts of Europe, and then jumping on the Rock Yourself to Sleep Tour in the USA with A Skylit Drive, Memphis May Fire, and Alesena.
